Harbor, a
Reston, VA-based developer of software that offers a unique
approach to information integration. FTVentures led the $11 million
Series B round with participation from existing investor,
Insight Venture Partners. The financing caps a year of 100
percent growth for Digital Harbor, an innovative
company whose software enables business users to interact with
information from disparate data sources in the context of a
single application. Digital Harbor provides the
complete infrastructure for building "composite applications",
which are powerful user interfaces that connect the data and
functionality of multiple disparate systems into a single,
robust desktop application. Based on an advanced "business
ontology" model, which allows an organization to quickly
establish and visualize the relationships among data in
multiple systems, the technology converts the complex coding
and development requirements of information integration into a
graphically intuitive “drag-and-drop” environment, which
enables much quicker and lower cost deployment than
traditional integration projects.
Digital
Harbor’s
software addresses a fundamental challenge that major
corporations face today, particularly the global financial
institutions that make up the FTVentures limited partner base.
Digital Harbor's software adds
critical analysis, case management and decision-making
capabilities to core business applications, such as anti-money
laundering, compliance, customer cross-selling, network or
systems management, legal discovery and business process
management.
