Mark Lotke Joins FTVentures as Partner
Brings strong investment track record built at General Atlantic Partners, Internet Capital Group and Pequot Ventures to firm focusing on software and business services for global financial services industry

San Francisco, CA - Mark Lotke, 37, has joined FTVentures, the San Francisco and New York-based private equity firm that provides capital to growth companies that leverage the firm's financial services industry expertise and Global Partner Network. Lotke brings extensive experience in the information technology industry including over 10 years of private equity experience at General Atlantic Partners, Internet Capital Group and Pequot Ventures. Lotke will head up the Software Investment Team at FTVentures and will be located at the firm's New York City office.

Lotke joins FTVentures partners Brad Bernstein, Richard Garman, James Hale, Bob Huret, David Haynes and Derek Lemke von-Ammon. Bob Barrett who built and ran the firm's Software Investment Team is becoming a Venture Partner.

Prior to joining FTVentures, Lotke invested over $350 million in leading enterprise software, e-commerce and IT-enabled services companies generating over $1.2 billion in realized gains. His notable investments include Delphion (acquired by Thomson Corp.), Envoy Corp. (acquired by WebMD), E*Trade (IPO), Logistics.com (acquired by Manhattan Associates), NewSub Services (acquired by Time Warner), Policy Management Systems Corp. (acquired by CSC Corp.), Predictive Systems (IPO), Priceline.com (IPO), Prime Response (IPO), Scopus (IPO) and SS&C (IPO).
Most recently, Lotke was a General Partner at Pequot Ventures where he launched the Boston office and focused on software investments. Prior to his role at Pequot, he was a Managing Director and member of the pre-IPO team at Internet Capital Group where he built and managed the Boston office and also launched ICG's European operations. Lotke began his private equity career as a Principal at General Atlantic Partners where he successfully completed nine of his software and IT services investments. He began his professional career as a strategy consultant at Corporate Decisions, Inc. (CDI), and also worked at LHS Group, a mobile billing and customer care software company. Lotke received an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and graduated summa cum laude from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Economics.
